Let's Play Math http://letsplaymath.net/ is a math blog that offers a whole lot more. The author, Denise, is a parent who home schools. On the site she does blog but the best part are the "Blogroll" "Math Resources", "Handouts", and "Quotations". The site is organized and not overly cluttered. The resources are current and cover grades K - 12.

Ten Marks
For those of you that teach math for grades 3 to 10 I have found a great site! It is TenMarks and the URL is http://www.tenmarks.com
The site is an online math program. It is for parents, students, and homeschoolers for a fee. For educators it is free! The teacher zone gives educators access to some great video clips. What a great way for the students to hear someone else teach how to solve a problem or explain a concept. The sort feature allows you to pick by grade or by concept. The videos I checked out came from YouTube and thankfully I had no trouble running them. www.youtube.com is blocked at our school but since the clips are coming from TenMarks our firewall allowed them.
If you teach math it is worth a few moments of your time to check it out!

Edutopia
I've spent some time reading and surfing Edutopia. The URL is http://www.edutopia.org/
Edutopia is broken down by grade level. For those of you that teach upper middle school you know that it is difficult to find things that are truly for young teens but Edutopia addresses that age group.
I also like that the bloggers are not all "academia" contributors. Every year there is something new that we are to do to teach our students. Many are great ideas, differentiate instruction, RTI, learning centers, formative assessments, etc. Sadly some of these ideas are difficult to implement with limited resources, especially time. I appreciate the input/ideas of those who are in the classroom, those who remember what it was like, and those who appreciate what teachers do every day!

Check this out!
My new computer arrived today and I spent time setting it up. I also did some more researching about blogs, wikis, and podcasts. (notice my comma)
I have listened to a few more podcasts that I found valuable to listen to. I want to check out this link more tomorrow.

I've spent the evening surfing the web, reading articles, reading blogs, and listening to different podcasts. There was a lot to take in on the first day. Blogs, PodCasts and Wikis oh my!
